Women's Retreat 2016

Hello my wonderful readers. I just got home from my second weekend away, but this weekend was me by myself going to women's retreat with the women from my church. Last year when I went was my first time away overnight from Penelope and she was sick and Aaron took her to the ER for the first time and I was so worried the whole time so this time was different thank goodness.
First I packed very minimal, just some leggings and jeans, pjs, and about 2-3 thermal long sleeve shirts and a couple t shirts (I ended up not wearing them because it was too cold), I took a fleece vest. I just took minimal toiletries and no makeup but mascara, also tennis shoes only, no other shoes. Took bug spray but didn't need it this time thank goodness and my trusty flashlight is about it.
And second here are some pictures from the beautiful place.

Elizabeth Hunnicut was wonderful as a worship leader you should all check her out!
It is a beautiful place only God can create!
Hope God blesses you all like He has blessed me in my life.

Mother's Day 2016

Hello my wonderful readers. Hope you and all the mothers in your life had a wonderful Mother's Day. We went to my mother in laws house the day before Mother's Day to spend the day with her then went to my parents house for actual Mother's Day. It was the first time spending Mother's Day with my mom, with me as a mother because I didn't get to do that last year so it was really important to me to do that this year. We did not take any pictures at my parents house for some crazy reason we always forget and need to get better at that but here is one we took at my mother in laws house. Overall it was a relaxing weekend and we got to tell both our parents the great news (see post before this one if you want to know). Love always.

Bouncing Baby - 18 Month Update

Hello my wonderful readers. I can't believe our baby is now half way to TWO!! How can my little baby girl be a toddler??!! We went to the doctor for her 18 month check up on Monday and she is coming in at 24 Lbs 3.2 oz and 33.75 Inches long.
She is running all over the place.
Eating when she wants to eat and what she wants to eat. I have learned with a toddler when they are not wanting to eat or they don't want to eat something they will NOT eat it whether you want them to or not haha. Penelope goes a couple days with just picking at her food and barely eating it then goes a few days with eating everything in sight and so on and so forth. I have no idea why she does this it's just one of the things she has done for awhile. She is pretty much eating everything no real restrictions we have come across yet for allergies or anything, which I think is good. She is drinking whole milk by the gallon and a little juice in there sometimes watered way down. She drinks a lot of water out of a sippy or straw cup really well.
We are still cloth diapering as much as we can and she does good with that.
She is really starting to play on the playground at the park and loves just running around so I think we will be doing a lot of that this summer.
She loves bath time 99% of the time, we all have our bad days of course. So I think we will have fun swimming this year a lot more.
She is doing really well with learning to brush her own teeth, daddy does it and then lets her do it again by herself for now.
Her hair is getting so long we might have pigtails by the summertime.
She is a very strong willed and independent little girl.
I hope you love hearing about her as much we love talking about her.

Only way I could get her to sit still long enough to take a picture haha.

Packing for a Toddler

Hello my wonderful readers. Today I am going to share with you what I packed for Penelope for a road trip we are on for 3 days/2 nights. We took an eight hour car ride to go to a wedding in Southern California. I started about a couple weeks ago making a list of what we needed to take for her and what needed to go in the car. We have never gone this far with her in the car so it will be quite the experience.
I started out with the portable DVD player we have for her with the charger and multiple movies and shows she enjoys. Miss P is not the best car rider so the DVD player is really all that keeps her from screaming for hours.
I also packed plenty of the snacks she likes and water for the car ride.
Also for the car and the whole trip she has a little backpack with her toys and books, I went with simple toys that were easy to clean up and small books that she can handle.
I also packed a different kind of diaper bag than normal. I have a changing pad which I don't really carry anymore with disposable changing pads as well, baby powder, hand sanitizer, trash bags, a wet bag, first aid kit with neosporin, bandaids and antiseptic wipes, sun hat, extra change of clothes, sippy cup leash, sunblock for all, bubbles for a stop if needed, an extra be light in a medium set piece, a few snacks, spoon, bib, dining mat, wipes, receiving blanket, burp cloth and the Ergo carrier because we aren't bringing the stroller.
First thing I packed in her regular bag is her first aid kit I always take with us when we are traveling anywhere overnight. Tylenol with a syringe is good for teething (which we are going through) and also if a fever happens, which leads me to a thermometer. Next is teething tablets I try to give her instead of Tylenol for pain. Gas drops is next on the list because she gets tummy aches when she travels and they help her a lot. Boogie wipes are a must in case of boogies haha. I also carry neosporin, antiseptic wipes and bandaids in the diaper bag normally. Also finger nail clippers and diaper rash cream.
Next thing is her clothes. She will need pajamas. She will also need three outfits, including one for the wedding, and I always pack one extra just in case of blow outs or throw up. Socks and shoes to match along with any hair clips and a brush. A swimsuit if its warm enough.
Next would be all her extra things. We have baby wash, wash cloths, towel, bath toys and lotion for after bath and Toothbrush and toothpaste.
Not pictured is her nightlight, her favorite blanket, her lovie, the cart/high chair cover and the pack n play for her to sleep in while we are there.
Well that is everything! There is so much stuff you have to bring for a toddler when you are going somewhere for more than a couple hours. Hope you enjoyed a look into Penelope's suitcase. Lots of love to you and yours.
