Bouncing Baby - First Mother's Day

Hello my wonderful readers. A few weeks ago I got to celebrate my first Mother's Day with my little one. It was a good one because we did exactly what I wanted to do. We went to church and then we went and had a relaxing picnic at the park just the three of us. The day before we went to my mother-in-law's house to celebrate with her and my mom was out of town so we saw her the next weekend. Our little picnic was relaxing and just wonderful in general, just the three of us.

After our little picnic lunch we just played around and relaxed on our picnic towel. After that we went for a walk and little missy fell asleep in the stroller.

Above is my Mother's Day gift/ Birthday gift. My birthday was the next weekend. The bracelet is a Keep Collective bracelet, I have the three important things in my life represented, God, my marriage to Aaron and my baby girl Penelope.
Penelope wore her very first onesie that says anything about mommy, everyone got her things that say daddy.

Overall we had a wonderful day and it was a wonderful first Mother's Day. Loves.

Women's Retreat 2015

Hello my wonderful readers. At the beginning of this month I went on a women's retreat with my church, mostly the group of women from mom's group. It was the first time I left Penelope overnight, I was really worried about her all weekend. Now I am totally NOT saying my husband couldn't handle it because he did an amazing job. When I left on Friday afternoon she had a slight fever, so i went back and forth on whether I should even leave or not, Aaron took her to the ER on Friday night because her fever had gone up and every time we gave her Tylenol she would spit it up, so nothing was getting in her system to help. I did not have cell phone service where I was but I could get Wi-Fi in certain spots so I did facetime him Saturday morning and found out. I felt like a really bad mother at that point for leaving and wanted to just sit and cry. The woman that had brought me up there offered to bring me home, but I knew if I left I would regret it. I stayed and had a wonderful, God filled weekend and made relationships with women from church of all ages, which is what I was wanting so bad since moving to the area.
The place we went to is in Challenge, CA it's called Woodleaf. It was extremely beautiful and anyone who goes there cannot say God doesn't exist because it's amazing. The theme this year was "What's your story?", and there were some women who gave their amazing stories. The praise leader was awesome, brought me to tears multiple times.

When I got home Sunday afternoon Penelope's fever was completely gone and she just had a small runny nose and was happy to see me.

I missed her so much and worried about her but getting away was what I needed because I haven't been without her for more than two hours at a time since she was born 6 months ago. I love her and my amazing husband so much. Loves.

Penelope's First Scottish Games

Hello my wonderful readers. A few weekends ago we went to the Sacramento Valley Scottish Games in Woodland, CA. It was Penelope's first Scottish games, which is really exciting for me since I grew up going to them all the time. I think she had a good time looking at everything and being just with mommy and daddy. The same games, two years before was my husband's first games, so it was extra special. She wore the kilt that my grandma made me when I was a little one, with a headband to match me and a white long sleeve onesie. It was a little chilly in the morning but warmed up quick and I actually got a little red on the shoulders even with sunscreen. She was very good all day. We had ourselves a banger and some fish and chips and they were delicious. We got some Welsh Cakes, the best thing ever made, you can find them here: http://www.welshbaker.com/Croeso_Welsh_Cakes .

She had to change to pants before we left. She was asleep when we left.

We overall had a wonderful time and maybe even make this games our little tradition. Loves.

UC Davis Picnic Day 2015

Hello my wonderful readers. Last month we went to UC Davis' Picnic Day. My husband is an alumni of that school and he took me for the first time last year, so this year we went as a family since we live a lot closer to  the school now. Penelope I think had fun, she was so good at not fussing all day and rode around in her stroller and watched the parade and smiled the whole time. It was just nice to get out and do something not far from home just the three of us as a little family. Also a plus was no one got sunburned....SCORE!!! haha!! My husband always get burned no matter how much sunscreen we put on him, so it is a big score for nothing to happen. We took a picnic, so after walking around for a little bit after the parade and seeing somethings we found a place in the shade next to the lake on campus and had our little picnic, it was Penelope's first picnic. She tried to use a sippy cup for the first time, and had some bananas besides her bottle. It was just a fun day. We were tired when we got home but in a good way for once.
We started the day off in a really good mood, waiting for the parade to start.
These are just some of the things we saw in the parade that were kind of cool.

I got this adorable UC Davis romper for her to wear so here she is showing her Aggie pride with me and her daddy especially. :-)

The parade wore her out a little bit.

We went on her first picnic and she enjoyed it.
She had bananas before her bottle and here she is trying to use the sippy cup for the first time.

Overall it was a wonderful day as a family :-). Loves.

Bouncing Baby - 6 Months Update

Hello my wonderful readers. Can you believe Penelope Ann is 6 months already?! I can't believe she has already done so much and grown so much, it's just amazing. Well at 6 months she goes to the doctor and gets her third set of shots and all measured up. She is 16 lbs 8.8oz and 27.25 inches long.  She had a wonderful appointment, she cried for about 2 minutes with the shots and that was it. She is just about sleeping through the night with no interruptions. She does really good with getting her bottle down. We do rice cereal in her night time bottle and she has had bananas, sweet potatoes, apples and carrots so far. We think apples were her favorite. She has tried a sippy cup a couple times and gets the general concept of it. She is pretty much crawling almost, which is crazy to think of for me and a new obstacle. She is playing with more toys that are colorful and shapes and letters and loves her books. She likes to watch Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood and Curious George, they both calm her pretty much instantly. Her favorite color to grab for is orange so far. I know she is only 6 months old but I feel like she is so smart. She is getting more hair also which I am so excited to play with. She also has so many new clothes to dress her up in because her grandmas are excited for summer. She also has been drooling so much she has gotten a rash and it is going away and she is living with a bib on always, don't think teething is to far away.

As for me, I am feeling better emotionally besides being tired. I am liking going to moms group at church, but that is almost over for the summer, so we will have to find something to do on our Tuesday mornings once a week. Our marriage is keeping steady, you don't realize when you have a child that it will strain your marriage a little bit because you don't have the time to talk about things or you get frustrated with her screaming and take it out on each other, but we are figuring it out and it is getting so much better.
Hope you enjoy a couple pictures of her as much as we do. Happy Half Birthday Penelope Ann! Loves.
