Penelope's Party - Food

Hello my wonderful readers. I worked really hard on Penelope's birthday party and one of the most important things for a mid day party is food. We had a Paddington theme even with some of the food. First off the cake and cupcakes were red velvet and the cupcakes had blue frosting to keep with the red and blue theme. For real food we had orange marmalade sandwiches (Paddington bear's favorite), cucumber tea sandwiches, ham and cheese sandwiches, veggies, fruit salad, English candies, I made Babybel cheese umbrellas (half a Babybel with the bendy part of the straw stuck in it for the handle), and fish and chips (Goldfish and potato chips). All was wonderful and I was really surprised in myself.

Hope you enjoy my little post about food and the set up we had. Look forward to sharing more in the coming weeks. Loves.

Penelope Is One!

Hello my wonderful readers. I can't believe my baby girl is ONE year old today!!! It's completely crazy to me how fast the time has gone by. It really does seem like yesterday that I was in a whole lot of pain right now trying to have her and after 30+ hours of labor she finally came and it was the most amazing feeling I have ever felt and I have never wanted to hold something so much and never felt so much love for something as I did when I pushed for the last time and there she was. I just remember it all like I just did it. She is so big now and taking her first steps and it all just seems unreal to me how that's possible. Aaron and I love her more than we could ever express. Here is a look at all the months leading up to this wonderful milestone for Penelope Ann.
She was born at 2:29pm so that's about the time I am posting this. I love her with everything I have and can't imagine life without her. Loves.

Penelope's Party - Decorations

Hello my wonderful readers. Sorry for the couple hour delay in post today I just put the finishing touches on the decorations for Penelope's 1st birthday party. In case you didn't read the last post the theme is Paddington Bear since that is her favorite book. I consider myself an intermediate crafter I would say so it took everything I had to make all of this in pretty much 4 days.
First thing was the high chair bunting. love how it turned out!
Then we did 12 months of photos from birth to 11 months because she isn't 12 months yet :-)
We have the good ol union jack flag.
Now this was the big project I knew I wanted to make but had to think hard how I was going to do it, but here is the tube sign. If you don't know the tube is the subway system in London, England. Below this sign is our fireplace which we will have our coffee table for presents to cover the ugly fireplace we don't use haha.
 A list of Penelope's Favorites.
The guestbook is so cute I think.
We got these cute pillow covers super cheap on Amazon and I might just keep them on there after the party too. Hi Charlie haha.
The Loo sign is my cute little sign hanging in the hall to point to the bathroom.
I know this picture is harder to see but it says "Happy 1st Birthday Penelope" I just could not get the lighting right. Hi Aaron haha.
I made a little banner with little Paddington Bears on them. We will also hang some streamers along here too.
We finally found a little cheap trunk and I made the favors and put them in it with the Paddington book that is her favorite.
And outside the front door this will hang with two balloons.
I can't wait to share the rest with you in the coming weeks. Hope you enjoy the decorations. Loves.

Penelope's Party - Invites

Hello my fabulous readers. It is that time already, Penelope is turning one! I cannot believe it at all. Me and Aaron are throwing her a small family birthday party at our place, nothing really fancy but I will show you what we are doing step by step. The theme of her birthday party will Paddington Bear because that is her favorite book. So I am going to have everything red and blue with a London theme to things because that is where Paddington goes when he leaves Peru. First on the agenda after the theme was invites.

So I took this picture of Paddington and put it on the tag but the tag is supposed to say what his says "Please look after this bear Thank you." On the back side of my tag was all the info for the party: when, where, time, rsvp. Also we included a map on where to park in our apartments and where our apartment is in the complex since we are in a building kind of hidden. I thought this was a simple and cute idea to stick with the theme. Can't wait to show you the rest of the party plans in future posts. Loves.

Bouncing Baby - 11 Month Update

Hello my wonderful readers. I can't believe for the life of me how my baby is 11 months old already! How did this happen????!!! It has been amazing to watch her learn and grow but I am sad in a way that she is getting so big so fast. I wish I could keep her little forever. Penelope is eating more food and just about everything we give her she eats. Her favorites right now are steamed yellow squash and sweet green peas right from the can. She is on the verge of walking any day now and it scares me haha. She loves her daddy more than anyone or anything, when he comes home from work at the end of the day everything stops and she crawls as fast as possible to him, it's the cutest thing. Not much has changed from the 10 month update besides her getting four more teeth, for a total of 6 now. She did stay overnight three nights with my parents, our first trip without her, she did awesome.
Hope you are looking forward to the one year update as much as I am dreading it haha. Loves.

Our Anniversary Trip Part 2

Hello my wonderful readers. I have finally got all my photos together and ready to share our wonderful trip we took about a month ago. First off it was the first trip with no baby, she went to stay with grandma for the weekend and had a really good time. The first day of our trip was Friday we flew from Sacramento airport to San Diego airport, pretty short and bumpy flight. I was really nervous since it has been 5 years since I have been on a plane and I am really motion sick. I did great with the sick thing, no problems. We checked into the Hotel Del Coronado, an amazing, old, classic hotel that Aaron has been talking about going to the almost 4 years we have been together, we actually almost went there on our honeymoon haha. Our room was facing the beach and was amazing, I could have never left the room our whole trip and been wonderful. That night the company went out to Mexican food that was amazing.
On the plane ready to go.
The view of the hotel main building and the ocean from our room.

 At dinner first night.

The next day was Saturday and it was a do whatever you wanted to day, so we went and had an amazing breakfast and I had a crepe for the first time, yum! We then walked around to shops and bought some souvenirs for family and of course our little one. We have friends that live about an hour away that we don't see ever so they came over and had lunch with us at an Irish pub which was really good. We then said good bye to them and went to the pool and had a few drinks and swam around and relaxed. That night was the dinner cruise everyone was going on. The food was not that great and I got a little sick feeling but we went out on the deck and sat after dinner and I felt better. We saw amazing fireworks and the Coronado bridge at night lit up is beautiful.
Our amazing breakfast. Below is me with my amazing friend Brittney we got to have lunch with her and her hubby to be.

 Sitting on our balcony relaxing.
Ready to go on the dinner cruise and watch the amazing fireworks.

Sunday we had just a small breakfast and ate looking at the ocean. We then went on a beer and food walking tour of La Jolla. It was fun to see things and hear the history and try some beer. We then went back to our hotel and ordered room service for dinner which was amazing food. We went down to the ocean watched the sunset, which was amazing!! We just relaxed and I was feeling tired so I went back to the room and took a nice bath with a Lush bath bomb and face mask while Aaron went and met some people from his work on the beach for a bonfire for a little bit then he came back and we just snuggled, opened up a bottle of champagne and cheers to two years of marriage.

Going to the beer tour.
First stop on the tour.
Below is the second stop on the tour.

 Room service was amazing!!

 Sunset on the beach!

Love this man!!

Monday we got up and had a very light breakfast and packed our bag and sat on our balcony staring at the ocean celebrating our anniversary, until we had to go get on the bus to go to the airport and fly home. I was a little sick feeling on the airplane coming home but never threw up so that is an A+ for me! We got home and I hugged my little girl so hard because I missed her so much!

Last morning looking at the beach.

Hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we enjoyed our trip! Loves.
