Bouncing Baby - Week 22 & 23 Update!

Hello my wonderful readers. I am so sorry it has been 3 weeks since I posted, that is crazy on my part. Time is just getting away from me in general. I am trying to do all I can while I am still in the second trimester with these twins and have enough energy to do everything.
Week 22 was ok, except that me and Penelope came down with a cold right before the Labor day weekend, which we had family plans for already planned out. We ended up going to our family plans and then stayed home the rest of the long weekend to get feeling better, Aaron then came down with the same cold and is almost completely over it now as I write this. Otherwise I am just tired, which is expected. I am thankful for the weather cooling down a little bit since I am housing two others I am so hot all the time.
Week 23 was good. I am still tired which I am accepting will be the case until the babies are sleeping through the night haha. This week we had our 3rd anniversary, which was good even though we didn't do much, Aaron got us my favorite salad I was craving from Applebee's and after Penelope went to bed we celebrated with some sparkling apple cider. We were laughing because this is the second of three anniversaries we have had apple cider and not champagne because of me being pregnant, the other anniversary was our first when I was pregnant with Penelope. We ended the week with going to my parents and attending my good friend's daughter's first birthday party, it was amazing! Go check out her YouTube channel at Mattandemm. My mom watched Penelope and we went on a date to my favorite place to eat back home that I have been craving and went and saw our first movie in 2 years at the movie theaters. We saw Bad Moms I would highly recommend to anyone, it is hilarious! We have almost everything we need for the babies so I feel less stressed. I finished Penelope's birthday party so that is good to go in like 2 months, I wanted to do everything while I still had energy and that way when I'm 30 weeks pregnant I won't be running around too much.
Hope you enjoy these little updates, I am trying to keep up, it's hard with an almost 2 year old and all the crazy life has thrown at us. Love you all!

Bouncing Baby - Week 20 & 21 - Gender Reveal!!!

Hello my wonderful readers. Sorry I didn't post last week it was a crazy busy but so exciting week! Last week started with getting cribs put together for the babies... It's so real now! Pictures to come when they are all set up and decorated. Couple days later me and Penelope went to a play date with our moms group where she had fun playing in the water and I was completely tired out. We then had our bug ultrasound and both babies are healthy and growing just right. We ended week 20 with date night which was amazing! Me and Penelope went and met my cousin and her little girl at the zoo for some girl time visiting which was so good! I had my regular doctors appointment and all is well with me too. My mother in law is coming to visit to finish the week off to go shopping for the babies now that we know the gender!

So in January 2017 .... Andrew James and Juliet Rose will be joining the Thorsen family bringing us to 5! A boy and a girl is so perfect and we are so happy!

Bouncing Baby - Update Week 18 & 19

Hello my wonderful readers. Week 18 was quite busy in our lives and the week went by without me even knowing I swear. Our water was shut off for repairs in our apartments for one day which was fine we were prepared for it ahead of time just inconvenient. Also I went to the dentist for a cleaning which was good, and I have heard they recommend you do at least once during pregnancy so that's one thing off my list haha. The cribs for the babies are ordered which makes it so much more real. We are still looking into strollers and deciding exactly which one we want, I am pretty sure that's the last big purchase we have left. We are also making the decision on what type of cloth diapers we are going to use for the twins when they are out of the newborn stage. Week 19 is starting off early, like 5:15am early with a toddler that is ready to run around for the day for some reason haha, they are also paving our parking lot in the apartments we live in so everyone had to find parking elsewhere, again we are prepared but still inconvenient. I finished my genetic screening blood work this week, the time has gotten away from me so I went in at the last couple days of the window I was supposed to go in and do it, oops. Other than all that I am feeling pretty good besides feet swelling, but I think that partly has to do with it being in the 100's here. Can't believe next week we will be half way through already, I better get my butt in gear and get some stuff done while I am still not as big and have a little energy to do stuff. One thing to look forward to is next week we get to find out what the gender of the twins is!!! I am so excited to know!! Lots of love your way and keep an eye out for a gender reveal soon!

Bouncing Baby - Week 16 & 17 Update

Hello my wonderful readers. It's time for a pregnancy update. Week 16 was good getting my energy back but still laying down and resting when Penelope takes a nap. Started walking again at least once a week if not more so I think that is good, before I felt too sick to even think about going outside. I still can't eat chicken unless it's fried because it makes me just want to throw up. I had my doctors appointment during week 17 and all looks good, babies are healthy size and heartbeat. I did go to a Moms group play date during week 17 and wore myself completely out playing with Penelope in the pool in the sun. She is a handful and I am a little nervous about when I am really pregnant and can't quite keep up with her, we will see what happens then. Hope you like this short pregnancy update, the next ones will hopefully be on time, life has just been well life lately. Lots of love!

My Feelings on Having Twins

Hello my wonderful readers. It has taken me awhile to get up the courage to voice my feelings about having twins. We had our first ultrasound at 8 weeks and there was one baby and we were so excited to have another and started to get stuff together. At my 13 weeks appointment the doctor couldn't hear the heartbeat with the doppler, which scared me, so she had to get the ultrasound and there on the screen was two little people moving around.
I went from scared because they couldn't hear the heartbeat thinking something was wrong with our baby to being scared because what kind of mom can I be to twins AND a toddler.
Penelope will be 2 by the time the twins come so I am scared that she will feel like she is being pushed aside for the two new babies, I don't want her to ever feel like we don't love her or they are more important.
I'm afraid they will come too early and have to spend a lot of time in the NICU. I'm afraid of being discharged from the hospital and they have to stay for some reason.
I know it is going to be hard, having a child in general is not easy, but I'm afraid that this time is going to be twice as hard before we even get to come home with them.
I'm praying by the time we come home with them, everything will be ready to go and Penelope will be in her toddler bed already settled.
I feel like even now we are not prepared with just the stuff we need and it makes me nervous because I am so type A.
One thing that is fun is looking at the gender neutral clothes, which stores don't have a lot of I am realizing, but we figure onesies can be shared if gender neutral and they are the same size.
Another fun thing is Pinterest, so many cute things on there for twins.
We do not know just yet what we are having so everything is cute.
It pretty much comes down to we are really excited to have these TWO blessings come into our lives but I am scared as well about the future and what it holds for me and them and us as a family.
We will just have to see what happens! With love!

Bouncing Baby - 14 & 15 week Update

Hello my wonderful readers. The past two weeks have been busy ones but I have felt better so I'm glad about that. Week 14 has brought relief from the sickness for the most part. It was so bad at one point the doctor was wanting to put me on medication for being sick for so long and so bad but thankfully we didn't have to go that route! Overall my tummy is getting bigger already and I am full on in maternity clothes so good thing I got them out and washed up early. Week 15 has brought on some more energy so I am back to keeping the house fairly clean and making food again for the family so that is good. We have started getting stuff for the babies! I will do a post at the half way point about what we have so far for them. We have our ultrasound scheduled to find out the sex of the babies so we are looking forward to that and it will be the first time my hubby sees them in person on the screen :-). We just had an ultrasound this week and they are measuring on schedule and heart rates are good, so that is good news. They are most likely fraternal twins they said so we could have any combo: boy/girl, boy/boy or girl/girl. My mom is the only guess so far and she thinks its boy/boy and they will come on December 22nd I think she said. I don't know if the gender is right but I'm pretty sure they will come early to mid December is my guess. Well I hope you enjoyed the little update. Love to you all!

Traveling with Ju-Ju-Be

Hello my wonderful readers. So this past weekend was the first weekend we have not been traveling somewhere in a month. I wanted to share with you how we use our Ju-Ju-Be when we travel. We use so many of our bags when we travel for so many different things. The trips in the car we usually take are about 2 hours or so.
The first bag that I use when we travel by car is a be light for a diaper bag. I just have the essentials in it for a diaper change, snacks and water cup if we need to stop. My diaper change stuff is in a be quick. I don't take a huge diaper bag with me on the trip usually because if I really need a clothing change or something like that her regular bag is in the back of car and easy to get to. The be light I use is a stargyle and the be quick is a magic merlot.
The second bag we take is for my daughter, it is a be prepared. I take the changing pad because I don't like to change her on other peoples beds and floors without a changing pad just in case. I usually have a fuel cell inside with her snacks and sometimes an ice pack with some milk depending on the time of day we are going somewhere. I will also have a be quick with some mega blocks in it for her to play with because everyone doesn't always have toddler toys at their house. Also in the bag is a few changes of clothes, bath towel, wash cloths, soap, etc. for a bath, socks, shoes if she can't get away with one pair the whole time, half to three quarters of a package of diapers and other little things we may use here and there. I usually put our little first aid kit with Tylenol, thermometer, etc. in the mommy pocket and her cups in the side bottle pockets empty ready to go when we get where we are going. The be prepared is a mint chip, the fuel cell is a frosted blossom, also the be quick is a frosted blossoms.
The third and fourth bags that we take are both super be's one for me and one for my husband. We usually pack clothes for us and our overnight toiletries bags. There is always room for more which is good because when we go to my parents and in laws both we end up coming home with things haha. The two super be's we have are the admiral and the empress prints.
When we go to a family of five I might have to get some more bags or something haha. Hope you enjoyed this post let me know if you did! Loves your way!
