We Got Some Wedding Stuff Done!! Wedding Blog #12

Hello my amazing readers! So 11 weeks from this past Saturday we will be getting married. This past week we booked our honeymoon (more details to come)! We also went to our DJ appointment to plan out the timing for our ceremony and reception and which songs will be played where and it was great! I feel so organized now and like everything is falling into place.  We also had our photo booth appointment to pick out which colors our photo booth will be and get everything finalized there. The last thing we did is the biggie!!........We got our marriage license!!! Yes! We went right in and filled out all the paperwork, including me changing my last name. It all just became really real and the amazing feeling when we raised our right hand saying all of this is correct and we are wanting to get married! It was just all really exciting! (that's why there are so many exclamation marks in this post) After the County Recorders office we went for coffee and tea at my favorite place, The Queen Bean. We also went to the wedding place before we left and looked around and I tried to imagine where I want everything to be and Aaron tried to dance with me on the dance floor cause he is romantic like that. I love him so much and can't wait to be Mrs. Thorsen. Loves.
Aaron giving the thumbs up to getting our marriage license :-)
Chairs and tables we will be using....so country chic, we love it.
We will be getting married right where the concrete ends :-)
A view of the lavender field, you know where are going to be some pictures taken here!
P.S. Invitations go out this week!!!

Making Jam :-)

Hello my wonderful readers :) Hope you all are enjoying your weekends.  This is going to be a short post :-) last weekend me and Aaron went over and picked, what seemed like a million, plums off of my mother in law to be's plum tree. Well they were almost all too ripe, so me and my mother in law decided to make jam. Now we haven't had the most amazing relationship I think so far but I think it is getting better since we are getting closer to the wedding, 11 weeks from today!! So we just hung out for about 4 or 5 hours making plum jam then eating some. We talked about our families and I listened to her tell stories that I have never heard before and it was a wonderful afternoon and our plum jam turned out amazing! Here are some pictures to kind of show the beautiful color it turned out and how much we made to give to the family. Loves.

Facebook Friends?

Hello my wonderful readers!! So for the past two days I have been "blessed" with being able to drive two hours in bay area traffic to go to jury duty! It blows! But anyways that's just a little thing about what I have been doing the past couple days. I decided to do a post about Facebook friends. A lot of people think because they met someone once in their life that, that makes them friends. I don't really believe this. I don't believe if you meet someone once, that you most likely will never see again or maybe see them once in the  next five years, you should add them on Facebook.  Facebook, at least mine, is where I post how I am feeling for the day or what is happening in my life, I know that that person I met for 5 mins could care less about any of that.  What I did recently with my Facebook friends was go through and if they haven't talk to me in the past year on any social media or the phone or seen me then I deleted them. Yes, this could be hard but how much do they really care if they haven't made any contact with you in the past year.  I, of course, kept all family on because that is how they keep up with me and Aaron from all over the state and country and some out of country, especially with wedding stuff. There is a great feature on Facebook where you can "Hide" the person so if they are posting really annoying things but you don't want to delete them, this is some of mine and Aaron's family haha, you don't have to de-friend them but you don't have to look at all their stuff either, win win. I got rid of half my friends on there because they have shown no interest in me or anything I am doing in the past year, which I think is a good time line. There are some that I was iffy about so I thought really hard and kept some but got rid of the others.  Also to go with this, my rule is if they add me back right away then I add them because I take that is they actually noticed I was missing from their hundreds of friends haha. I know this might make me sound a little harsh but there is no need to have people seeing everything your doing if they don't even care about it. Well back to jury duty for the afternoon. Loves until next time!

Wedding Blog #11 -- Cake, Finally!

Well hello there my wonderful readers. Today's post is updating on the wedding. I finally found a cake! This has most likely been the hardest thing of this whole process of planning a wedding.  We have talked to many people about cakes and tasted one other, which we wanted to go with but then she just dropped off the face of the earth, I have no idea what happened to her.  Anyways, we were talking to Aaron's cousin about the cake thing and she has a friend that does cakes....ding, ding, ding!!!!! So we finally worked out a time that worked for both of us to taste and they were delicious!! Here is a picture of part of what she sent home with us from our tasting.

We loved the vanilla cake with the vanilla frosting, vanilla cake with chocolate frosting, lemon cake with lemon frosting but the one we picked was....wait for it.....Lemon cake with vanilla frosting!!! It was amazing! The frosting was so light and fluffy it was almost like you didn't have any on it. She was priced super well, which was good on our budget! I'm just so excited that we finally booked the last big thing left to book. Only 88 days left until the I Do's!!!! Loves!

Modesto Highland Games and Much, Much More!!!

Hello my readers.....so it has taken me almost a week to recover from this last weekend. Aaron, Me and Charlie all went to Modesto, where I am originally from, to go to what seemed like a million things.  We went Friday night after we both got off work and saw my parents because they left for South Korea on Saturday morning to see my cousin graduate high school. Then on Saturday, after staying the night on a full size bed when we are used to a queen lol, we woke up early to go help my grandparents out at the Modesto Scottish Highland Games, which they help start about 30 years ago.  I helped out where I could and Aaron helped keep the beer booth going, almost drinking as much as he sold haha. Here are some pictures from the games:
This is my fiance, Aaron and our niece, Sophia....it was her first Scottish games :)
This is looking down what we call Clan Row.
This is my brother, Ian, just resting waiting for someone to say they need help with something.
Saturday I was invited, besides helping at the games, to a bridal shower of one of Aaron's cousins that is getting married in July (Aaron has two cousins that are getting married this year, besides us and we each have one getting married next year, something in the water haha). I was also invited to a graduation party for a good friend, that is also in my wedding.  So being the crazy person I am, I appeared at all three :) I started out helping get the games set up then left, went to the bridal shower, which was wonderful and had lots of fun. Here I am with one of  Aaron's cousins, not the one getting married, but she is in our wedding and is fabulous!
Then after the bridal shower I rushed over to the grad party and ran in, gave her a huge hug and card and ran out and back to the games just in time to help clean everything up and drag my very happy fiance back home to go to bed.
But that was not all for the weekend, Sunday morning we went to a celebration at the church I grew up in, it was nice to see people and get to introduce my fiance to them. After church Aaron went and rested himself a little more from the day before while I went and to do a trial run of my wedding day hair with one of my good friends that is also getting married in July.  There is a blog post up with the pictures of that.
When that was done we got in the car with all of our stuff and dog

and went and picked up Aaron's mom, and went home, and I swear I think I went right to bed I was so tired!! But I am glad I got to show my face at everything and everyone was happy :-)
Until next time, Loves!

**** May Favorites ****

Hello my fabulous readers!! Today I'm going to let ya'll know what my May favorites have been :-) I love all of my April favorites still and use them all so this will be an add on to that.
The first thing is my Naked palette, which I will be posting a review on this week.  The colors are amazing is why its my favorite this month.

The second thing for my favorites this month is my Clear shampoo and conditioner.  I have a review up about this product. I just love how my hair feels after I use it.

The third product on my favorites list is my e.o.s. lip balm in sweet mint. I am absolutely in love with this lip balm I use it all the time! I also already have a review of this up here on the blog as well :)

Next favorite is Maybelline Fit Me Blush in Light Mauve.  I just love the color of this blush! I have a review that just went up about it :)

I believe that is all my beauty favorites for May.  Now the first thing that isn't beauty related is my jean skirt I got from Target. It fits so well and I can wear to many different events, casual and dressy.

The second thing is my new jewelry.  First, my gold bracelet that I got from Lane Bryant, I just love all the charms.  The second is my silver bracelet with the heart lock and key, It reminds me of me and my fiance's matching tattoos.  Third is my bow earrings, I just love how cute they are. And last is my heart and bow earrings that say love on them, They are from Old Navy and match many things in my wardrobe.

The last favorite I have for the month of May is my Nivea Lip Butter in Raspberry Rose Kiss.  I love how it smells and how it moisturizes. I have a review coming up on my blog about it. :)
Let me know what your May favorites are so I can try them out! Loves!

Review It #8 -- Blush and Bronze

Hello my wonderful readers!! Welcome to another Review It post. Today I'm reviewing my blush and bronzers. I just started wearing blush and bronzer really in the past 6 months. So I will be giving my review from the point of view of a newbie to blush and bronzer.
Maybelline Fit Me Blush in Light Mauve is the first blush I really bought.  I love this blush. It has wonderful pigment and goes on very good.  It makes my cheeks looks so pink but not too much.  I like a more darker blush personally so that is why this is a little darker. I will be repurchasing this product and maybe even try another color.
e.l.f. Contouring Blush and Bronzer in St. Lucia is the only contouring kit I have. I got this just to try it out.  It is super pigmented. You really need to have a light hand when applying this product or you will have a bright pink cheek and look dirty from the bronzer.  The bronzer is a bit dark for me but I still like it and the blush.  I don't know yet if I would repurchase it or not.
Physicians Formula Sexy Booster Sexy Glow Bronzer in Light Bronzer is my favorite bronzer I have tried so far.  It is on the pricier side but I love the smell of it actually haha.  My fiance always says my face smells good when I wear it haha. It is a beautiful color on me at least and goes on so well. As you can see I have hit pan and I would repurchase this.
See you in the next Review It. Loves.

Wedding Blog #10 -- Hair and Makeup

Hello my readers.....so today I am adding one more post to the Wedding series to update you guys.  Two days ago I had my wedding hair trial and was so surprised that it only took 30 minutes and she made it look better than the picture I showed her.  Now this is just the trial run so it will be much more perfected on the day of my wedding. :) but Stephanie did such a good job this time around I was so happy, I even made Aaron take me to dinner later cause my hair looked so good. Stephanie can be found at https://www.facebook.com/tayloredhairfashionsew.
This is the before on the way to the trial. This also shows how I am going to do my makeup, very natural and some gold on the eyes, maybe.
So here is the end result from all angles :)
In this shot you can see my friend Mallory in the background, she is getting married in July so she had her trial too and looked amazing as well. :)

So that's it for the hair and makeup until the day of the wedding. Aaron loved it and I even got compliments about it from strangers, so I feel so good that that is done and can be checked off my list of stuff.
Until next time my lovely readers. Loves!
